Examples of successful applications in construction machinery

Schwing GmbH uses igus components for its mobile stone wire saw. The saw cuts natural stone blocks in quarries, which must not be contaminated by dripping lubricant. The components also defy the dusty and dirty conditions of the quarry.

For their tunnelling machines, Herrenknecht AG relies on the E4.1 energy chains from igus due to their robustness and because they protect the cables. It was also possible to carry out pre-assembly work for the customer so that the energy chains were delivered already filled with signalling and power cables.

KGS Keller Geräte & Service GmbH now use E4.1 energy chains with our chainflex cables and the RBR system for their drilling devices. This way, the energy chain can bend backwards. Safe energy supply can thus be realised even if the device has a complicated structure.

L&K Land- und Kraftfahrzeugtechnik GmbH require bearings that are maintenance-free over the entire operating period of 4,000 hours. We even exceeded these requirements. Even after more than five years of use, the bearings have not had to be lubricated or replaced.

Ets Payant manufacture pulley modules with they use to transport soil from holes that are up to 65 metres deep. All components must be able to withstand the effects of weather, dust and impact. For this reason, several igus products are used at the same time. These include double joints, flange mounted bearings, thrust washers and aluminium shafts.

W. Gessmann GmbH had clear specifications for their driver's seats. Not only did it have to be rotatable around its own axis, but it also had to be movable at right angles to the direction of travel. For this reason, Gessmann opted for our drylin W guide rails

EBAWE Anlagentechnik GmbH needed a special 3D head for attaching a high-pressure water jet nozzle that could be inserted at an angle to the insulation board rather than vertically. This was realised with the help of our iglidur slewing ring bearings.
