Under the carriage body a strong protection from falling rocks is necessary. In addition, the cables have to be guided safely so that the batteries can be pulled out without problems for maintenance. Therefore, robust energy chains and cables are often used for train battery boxes. Both components are also available as so-called readychain. This is a pre-assembled e-chain including the required cables.  

e-chains by igus are characterised by their particular lightweight property. In addition, they are constructed in a way that makes them especially robust and durable. In combination with chainflex cables, this leads to a particularly fail-safe combination, with which cable breaks and so-called corkscrews can be avoided. The extremely robust chainflex cables can cope with extremely small bend radii and have been developed especially for torsional movements. There is also a 4-year guarantee for chainflex cables. e-chains and chainflex cables are also available in an EN 45545-compliant version.
